Stella Chiweshe
Stella Chiweshe is Zimbabwes ‘Queen of Mbira music’. Mbira is a lamellophone traditionally played in South Africa during ancestral rites and which was forbidden during British colonial rule. Chiweshe has been bridging the line between Mbira-Trance and Afro-Pop since the early seventies, her voice charming a worldwide audience into a temporary spiritual community.
